COACH Kids of Clinton County board member Jo Ellen Clark and Programs Manager Carl Gingerich attended the Trinity Hope Center Annual Recovery Family Resource Carnival on Monday evening, July 7 to share information with the community about COACH Kids and its youth mentoring opportunities ahead of the 2025-2026 school year.
During the carnival, around 230 individuals visited the Clinton County Boys & Girls Club to spend their evening eating corndogs, popcorn, cotton candy and Kona Ice while enjoying face painting, balloon animals, carnival games, bounce houses and more as they won prizes and received information from resource tables in attendance, such as COACH Kids.
COACH Kids was one of 14 organizations being represented on site with information for its three main programs, information for the upcoming Hot Dog Festival Breakfast and Cornhole Tournament, coloring sheets, prizes and a fun game consisting of popcorn buckets and a wiffle ball. Deemed one of the most difficult but enjoyable games by multiple children in attendance, the youth focused heavily as they readied their toss into the buckets to varying success. However, when the ball was successfully sunk in a bucket, the smiles and laughter were contagious.
While the children tried their hand at the game, parents and guardians were able to talk with COACH Kids representatives about the various programs available, including Local Heroes, Community HOPE and Friends for Life. With new mentors, mentees and volunteers possible, the COACH Kids team deemed the night an undoubtable success, even if no one attempted to sink the wiffle ball from halfway across the gym as Jo Ellen suggested!
The night was made possible through the collaboration of Trinity Hope Center, Healthy Communities of Clinton County, the Clinton County Boys & Girls Club, the United Way for Clinton County and all the organizations in attendance.
