National Night Out Back-To-School Event Set For Tomorrow, Aug. 5

Community members in Clinton County have been invited to attend the annual National Night Out event held at Prairie Creek Park to receive school supplies during the back-to-school season while also meeting local law enforcement officers and participating in activities.

The National Night Out event will be held tomorrow, Aug. 5 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Prairie Creek Park in Frankfort. During the event, visitors may receive school supplies and backpacks, organized by Center Township, United Way for Clinton County and Healthy Communities of Clinton County Coalition. As well, visitors will receive free bicycle helmets sponsored by Goodwin Funeral Home as well as free food and ice cream sponsored by Primera Iglesia Bautista de Frankfort and Envoy.

Community members may also meet K9 officers, drone operators, SWAT team members and other officers while also seeing police vehicles.

The National Night Out event is made possible through partnerships between the Frankfort Police Department and other community partners.

COACH Kids of Clinton County will have a booth with information regarding our programs during the event, and the COACH Kids team and board members will be out and about helping with the distribution of materials as well.
